Dunlop Tyres extends Supercars deal

Dunlop Tyres has extended its tyre supply deal with the Supercars Championship for another three seasons.

The deal will see the tyre manufacturer supply the rubber for cars taking part in the Supercars Championship and the Dunlop Development Series and comes after 15 years at the pinnacle of Australian motorsport.

Dunlop reckons that by the end of the new deal they would have supplied Australian racing teams with as many as 210,000 tyres!

Lou Mandanici from Dunlop says the motorsport investment does bring real and tangible results for Australian car owners.

“Our commitment to technology, performance, quality and innovation has stood us above competitors and enabled us to continue providing the tyres for the Championship.

“The technology that Dunlop develops for Supercars is then incorporated in its Passenger and Sports Performance tyres for Australian roads.”

While popular Supercars driver, Mark Winterbottom, welcomed news that Dunlop would continue to be supplying the rubber for the Supercars Championship until at least the end of 2019.

“I’ve raced on Dunlop control tyres for my whole Supercars career.

“Across those years, the relationship between Supercars and Dunlop has seen the quality of the tyres increase with each season, and the racing get better and better as a result.”
