1.0L Ecoboost to join Fiesta line-up in new model set to hit showrooms in September.
Ford has unveiled more info on the new look Fiesta, which will be here later in the year.
Boasting the distinctive trapezoidal front grille – a design signature of Ford’s new global family, the new Fiesta will also offer the highly acclaimed three-cylinder, 1.0L Ecoboost engine when the model goes on sale in September.
The tiny engine, which puts out a very impressive 92kW and 170Nm and uses as little as just 4.9L/100km combined, has picked up the coveted “International Engine of the Year” title for the past two years.
Fiesta buyers will also have the choice of a new 1.5L Duratec four-cylinder engine boasting 82kW and 140Nm, with combined fuel consumption of just 5.8L/100km.
Ford has also reworked the Fiesta’s suspension with engineers altering shock absorber specs to improve comfort, new front suspension bumpstops provide better cushioning and the electric power-assisted steering has been re-tuned to match the new suspension characteristics.
Inside the cabin Ford says the new Fiesta boasts improved ergonomics and the model also picks up the impressive SYNC hands-free in-car connectivity system.
General Marketing Manager at Ford Australia, David Katic, says the new Fiesta is better than ever.
“Ford Fiesta continues to push the boundaries and seal its credentials as the small car that stands out from the competition.”
Pricing is yet to be confirmed for the new Fiesta.
