Your Car Reviews: 2006 Nissan Navara

Bob tells us all about his 2006 Nissan Navara.

Your Car Reviews: 2006 Nissan NavaraI was always a Toyota HiLux fan, owned them for years, then my friend purchased the local Nissan dealership and when it was time to get a new ute for the farm, well I had to help him out.

Despite some initial reluctance to move away from the Toyota product I reckon the Navara has been one of the best car decisions I have made.

It isn’t my primary driver, I use it on the paddocks and to bring supplies and equipment for the farm back from town.

The diesel engine is still going strong after 185,000km and the gearbox is holding up alright. I did a clutch at 120,000km and aside from new brakes and tyres and a new battery (the Navara sometimes isn’t driven for weeks), it’s been completely reliable.

The interior is showing sign of wear and tear though, air-conditioning is still cold and I’m proud to admit (or should that be ashamed?) that the Navara has never been washed or vacuumed!

Would I buy another Nissan ute? To be honest it has grown on me and proven its worth on the farm and on the roads, I do like that new HiLux though and I reckon my mate just might have to miss out on a sale in the next 12 months or so.

Thanks for the review Bob, much appreciated! If you want to tell us about your car we’d love to publish your review. Send your car review to [email protected] or use the Contact page.
