UK study finds car dealerships winning over used car buyers…
The car sales landscaping is a constantly changing and evolving thing and now new research out of the UK has found a move away from private sellers of used cars.
Traditionally a very popular way to buy a used car, mycarcheck.com found 27% of respondents said they preferred to go to a dealer, that percentage up from 13% just a year ago.
More than 1,200 people were involved in the study.
Car dealerships have taken the market share from private sellers, down to 35% from 48%.
Gavin Amos from mycarcheck.com says it was interesting to see such a dramatic shift.
“Those buying from dealers are often attracted by warranties and manufacturer-approved used car schemes, while those buying privately think they can get more for their money.”
