The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affected Polaris RVs sold in Australia between the 1st of May 2017 and the 19th of July 2017.

In total, just 54 Polaris vehicles sold in Australia will be affected by the recall.

The recall notice advises that some vehicles may have been assembled using incorrect front brake caliper mounting bolts.

What are the hazards?

If a vehicle was assembled with the incorrect bolts, the caliper could detach from the vehicle, leading to an immediate loss of front brake function.

The issue could also lead to degradation of rear brake function over time, also posing an accident hazard.

What should affected Polaris owners do?

Owners will be contacted by mail by Polaris Sales Australia and are asked to contact their local Polaris dealer to arrange an appointment and repair of the vehicle.

The action is the third recall for Polaris vehicles sold in Australia this year, previous recalls in 2017 have covered issues with a seat fault, engine and brake system issues and a cargo box bracket fault.
