And it’s this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show where we are getting our first official look at most of the new offerings.
Here’s a closer look at what BMW is showing at its ‘home’ motor show this year:
BMW Concept X7
Featuring three rows of seats (but only six-seats in concept car form), the BMW X7 concept also features a plug-in hybrid powertrain – and that’s a certainty in the production model.
BMW Concept 8 Series
Heralding the return of the famous 8 Series, the BMW Concept 8 Series is a taste of the new offering that will enter production next year.
BMW say the concept is the epitome of dynamism, luxury and exclusiveness.
BMW Concept Z4
Revealed only last month, the BMW Concept Z4 is believed to be near production ready, and will replace the current Z4 at some point in 2018.
BMW say the concept boasts a shorter bonnet and this ensures the driver sits closer to the middle of the car than in previous BMW roadsters.
BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo
BMW telling us the car blends coupe style, luxurious long-distance comfort and flexible practicality.
Third-generation BMW X3
The BMW X3 SUV is the brand’s best-selling model, but in the face of fresher competition this new-generation model can’t come soon enough.
Lighter and with better aerodynamics than the car model, look for the new BMW X3 to be in Australian dealerships before the end of the year.
Updated BMW i3 and new BMW i3s
While the popular EV also gets some styling tweaks and accents, new digital services, and a Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system for 2018.
New-gen all-wheel drive M5
A first for the model, with 441kW on tap – all-wheel drive might just be the icing in the cake for this exciting new BMW offering.
