BMW Group achieves record August sales.

The 3 Series was again the groups star performer.

August proved a bumper month for BMW with global sales reaching a record total for the month.

In all, 139,648 new BMW vehicles were delivered worldwide, an increase of 14.8% over August 2012.

Global sales year-to-date also reached an all-time high with 1,246,528 vehicles sold, an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year.

The star performer once again was the BMW 3 Series which sales surging 38.6% to a total of 34,943. While the 5 Series (21.5%), X3 (7.3%), 6 Series (13.1%) and 7 Series (25.8%) all experienced strong increased demand.

MINI also reported its best August figures ever with 20,653 deliveries worldwide, 10.6% increase over the same month last year.

Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG says the results were very pleasing.

“For the very first time, we sold over one million BMW brand vehicles in the first eight months of the year. The company is well on course to attain growth in sales for the full year.”
