UK owners give sporty BMW the thumbs up as a popular Audi gets panned…
The BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible (From 2008 – on) has been named as the ‘most reliable used sport car model’ in this years Which? owners survey in the UK.
The survey, which is based on feedback from thousands of car owners, found the little BMW pleased owners with low average annual repair bills of just £31 ($58 AUD) and a strong reliability score of 92%.
Owners did report some issues with their cars though, but most were minor, such as faulty electric windows, lights and windscreen wipers.
But it wasn’t all good news for the German brands; the Audi A4 Cabriolet was named the ‘least reliable used sports car’ by owners.
Owners of 2002 – 2008 models of the Audi reported an abysmal breakdown rate of 27%.
Repair bills are equally painful, averaging out at £236 ($440 AUD) per year.
Owners complained of issues with the battery, electrics, the exhaust system and the air conditioning.
