
The VFACTS sales data is in and as we already reported Toyota again proved the nation’s most popular car brand in October.
While Hyundai, while suffering a 3.3% drop in sales compared to the same month last year, jumped into the coveted silver medal position at the expense of Mazda.
The Japanese car brand had a big seller again in the Mazda3 (fifth best-selling car model in Australia in October), but overall sales slipped back 7.2%.
Some of the other top performers in the month included:
- Ford – 6,508 (+6.7%)
- Bentley – 18 (+125.0%)
- Ferrari – 15 (+66.7%)
- Fiat – 229 (+17.4%)
- Great Wall – 11 (+83.3%)
- HAVAL – 61 (first October in Australia)
- Honda – 3,404 (+4.4%)
- Infiniti – 83 (+97.6%)
- Isuzu Ute – 1,806 (+2.6%)
- Jaguar – 264 (+64.0%)
- Kia – 3,543 (+23.6%)
- Lamborghini – 6 (+500.0%)
- LDV – 117 (+11.4%)
- Lexus – 923 (+7.0%)
- Lotus – 6 (+100.0%)
- Mercedes-Benz – 3,477 (+32.8%)
- MINI – 312 (+18.6%)
- Renault – 1,139 (+42.7%)
- Skoda – 472 (+14.6%)
- Volkswagen – 4,869 (+8.7%)
- Volvo – 478 (+1.9%)
While some of the more disappointing results included:
- Alfa Romeo – 65 (-43.0%)
- Audi – 1,826 (-10.0%)
- BMW – 1,802 (-9.9%)
- Chrysler – 30 (-58.9%)
- Citroen – 48 (-30.4%)
- Dodge – 5 (-92.1%)
- Foton Light – 47 (-51.0%)
- Holden – 7,521 (-7.0%)
- Jeep – 926 (-38.5%)
- Land Rover – 920 (-14.2%)
