Suzuki Celerio

The replacement for the quite popular Suzuki Alto came to the Australian new car market earlier in the year and has since been named “Australia’s Most Affordable Car”.

Behind the Wheel’s Simon Lai reviewed the budget-beating Suzuki Celerio and found it an easy and quite enjoyable little car to get about in. Easy to park, a great turning circle and reasonable list of standard inclusions makes the Suzuki Celerio well worth a test drive.

The Mitsubishi Mirage has been on the market for a couple of years now and continues to find a healthy number of new owners in Australia.

This worthy member of the Best Cars under $20,000 2015 club, the Mirage is powered by a tiny, but willing, three-cylinder engine, has a deceptively spacious cabin and comes standard with inclusions such as Bluetooth and air-conditioning.

With prices starting at under $12,000 and with a full five-star ANCAP safety rating, the Mitsubishi Mirage is hard to pass up.

Volkswagen Polo

Yes, you can get into a new Volkswagen Polo under $20,000.

Priced from just $16,490, the Volkswagen Polo offers remarkably good fit and finish for the price, a full five-star ANCAP safety rating and an impressive 1.2 litre engine.

Built in South America, the Polo still has a touch of European motoring about it and boasts standard features including tilt and reach steering adjustment, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, auto headlights and a cooled glove box.
