Citroen has confirmed it’s about to start building a petrol-powered C4 Cactus with an auto transmission and it will arrive in Australia later in the year.
Currently, if you want an auto, you have to opt for the more expensive 1.6 litre turbo-diesel variant (reviewed here).
But from February production, Citroen will start building the PureTech 110 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol model with both the existing five-speed manual transmission, as well as the new six-speed auto.
In confirming the new transmission was coming, Citroen said the new automatic gearbox delivers a compelling blend of smooth power delivery, ultra-fast gear changes and dynamic efficiency.
While the new-generation transmission will also boast a ‘creep’ function that will help low-speed driveability in congested traffic.
Citroen Australia said they are anticipating a second half of the year arrival for the drivetrain and we will keep you updated with further Citroen C4 Cactus News as it comes to hand.
