As the first new Audi Q5 vehicles start rolling off ships ahead of the model’s official launch, Audi today confirmed local pricing and specification details for the highly-anticipated new model.

Available from June, the 2018 Audi Q5 will be offered in three model grades and all will come standard with quattro all-wheel drive and an S tronic auto transmission.

Those three variants of the Q5 include:

  • Q5 design 2.0 TDI (140kW/400Nm) – from $65,900
  • Q5 sport 2.0 TDI (140kW/400Nm) – from $70,700
  • Q5 sport 2.0 TFSI (185kW/370Nm) – from $73,500

While standard gear in the new Audi offering will include:

  • 18” alloy wheels
  • Xenon headlights
  • LED daytime running lights/taillights
  • Leather-appointed seats
  • 8-speaker audio system

The Audi Q5 sport then adds features such as 20” alloy wheels, sport seats (front) and the Audi virtual cockpit.

As already reported, the new Audi Q5 will boast a full five-star safety rating.

One area where the new model has a significant advantage over the outgoing first-generation offering is a trimmed-down waistline.

The Audi engineers have managed to shed 90kg in the new model and this is said to help both driveability and fuel economy.

Audi confirms Australian pricing/specs for 2018 Q5Audi Australia sales manager, Scott Maynard, says dealerships are expecting strong demand for the new second-generation Q5.

“The first-generation Q5 was the most successful Audi SUV in Australia,”

“The all-new second-generation Audi Q5 brings improvements in every area – interior space, fuel efficiency, progressive technology and now with a more modern, sophisticated design.”
