There are concerns a Performance Suspension brand extended ball joint fitted to Nissan Navara D40 and Pathfinder could fail.
The subject of a recall being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) the extended ball joint carries the part number PSRNAV-001.
The ACCC recall notice advising that in some circumstances, the ball joints will fail, causing potential separation of ball joint components.
If the defect occurs whilst in use, the ball joint can separate, making the suspension system fail and potentially causing serious injury or death to the user or other road users.
Sold nationally between the 17th of April 2015 and the 9th of May 2016, purchasers should immediately stop using the ball joints and contact Performance Suspension to receive a set of replacement ball joints or a full refund of the purchase price.
More details are available on the Performance Suspension website and by phone on (07) 5529 2366.
