Volvo’s first small SUV coming

Volvo Cars tell us the soon to be unveiled Volvo XC40 will complete the Swedish car company’s SUV range.

Coming on the back of the impressive new-gen XC90 and soon to launch XC60, the XC40 will be the first-ever small SUV from Volvo.

The official word is that the new SUV will be revealed ‘shortly’, though there’s no official date info that we can bring you.

In the meantime, Volvo teased us with a promise that the new offering would offer an extensive range of personalisation options.

These include “dozens of possible exterior and interior colour combinations”.

And they say the XC40 is “a distinctive car for a distinctive driver”.

Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Design Officer at Volvo Cars, says the Volvo XC40 will stand out from the premium small SUV pack.

“We wanted the XC40 to be a fresh, creative and distinctive member of the Volvo line-up, allowing its drivers to put their personality in their driveway.

“XC40 drivers are interested in fashion, design and popular culture, and often live in large, vibrant cities. They want a car that reflects their personality. The XC40 is that car.”

We’ll bring you all the photos and data as soon as the new Volvo XC40 is officially revealed in our XC40 News section.
