Updated and improved Volkswagen Golf range here in July…
The Volkswagen Golf will have a fresh look and feel from July with the updated version of the Mark 7 Golf arriving locally.
Short of a completely new-generation overhaul, the update, which they are calling ‘7.5’, is still quite significant.
As we reported back in November, Volkswagen has boosted the Golf with a new seven-speed DSG transmission, larger touchscreens (8.0” and 9.2”), updated infotainment system software and refreshed the paint colours and wheel designs.
The end result, according to Volkswagen, is an offering that is “the world’s most technically sophisticated small car”.
Volkswagen Australia today confirmed key details for the 2018 model, though at this stage we are still awaiting final pricing info.
The big changes to the Golf range for 2018 in Australia include:
- Discontinuation of 92kW version
- Standard fitment of 110kW/250Nm 1.4 litre engine (petrol hatch/wagon)
- Standard fitment of alloy wheels
- Standard fitment of Front Assist with City Emergency Braking
Volkswagen also confirming that the new Golf will be launched initially in hatch, wagon and Alltrack variants, while the sporty GTI and R will land in August.
