The seven-seat SUV offers a range of safety features, including:

  • Six airbags (driver, passenger, side, curtain)

  • Adaptive Cruise Control

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas also comes with a system called Automatic Post-Collision Braking.

Featuring as standard on the model, Volkswagen telling us the system applies the brakes after a collision “thus helping reduce residual kinetic energy and, in turn, the chance of additional damage”.

“The Volkswagen Atlas is designed for the modern American family,” said Hendrik Muth, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing and Strategy.

“There’s nothing more important than keeping your family safe and the Atlas is engineered to help do that with excellent structural integrity and numerous available safety and driver assistance features.”

We will keep updated as further details on the Volkswagen Atlas come to hand, in particular around Australian availability.
