Still no word of an Australian arrival, however truck buyers in North America have an updated International Trucks Lonestar arriving in dealerships.
Navistar, the parent company of International Trucks, has announced the upgrade of the model for 2018 will include:
- Improved aerodynamics (up to 3% fuel efficiency improvement)
- Better cabin insulation
- New single-canister after-treatment system (smaller/lighter and faster to service)
- Improved cab wiring
- Improved cabin heating/air-conditioning – including new quick defrost functionality
Unveiled to coincide with National Driver Appreciation Week in the U.S., Michael Cancelliere, President of Truck and Parts at Navistar, says the Lonestar is better than ever.
“As we honour the more than 3.5 million professional truck drivers across America during National Driver Appreciation Week, it is fitting that we are unveiling the beloved American classic,”
“The LoneStar with interior updates that maximize driver productivity and improve driver ergonomics and visibility,”
“The LoneStar is a flagship product for International and not only is it a beautifully designed truck, it represents the best in driver pride and vehicle uptime.”
There’s no official confirmation at this stage from Australian distributor of International Trucks, Iveco, will make the Lonestar available in Australia.
The truck did however make an appearance at the 2015 Brisbane Truck Show (prior to Iveco gaining local rights).
