
The Skoda Rapid has enjoyed a successful year in Australia, now comes news that the model is being updated for 2018.
On the back of nearly 250 local sales already this year (a better than 25% improvement on the same period in 2016), Skoda has just confirmed it is also simplifying the Rapid range for 2018.

How simple is the line-up? Well, it will include just one variant – a 92TSI model with DSG auto transmission.
Gone is the 81kW/1.2 litre turbo-petrol/six-speed manual version.
Instead, the Skoda Rapid, which is also available in just one body type – ‘Spaceback’, will come exclusively with the larger 1.4 litre turbo-petrol/seven-speed DSG driveline.
Offering 200Nm of torque, the 2018 Skoda Rapid is available at $23,990 drive-away.
The move has been described by Skoda as being designed to provide greater simplicity for customers, while reducing complexity.
While the 2018 update also brings new/updated features, including:
- Extended glass tailgate
- 17″ Black Savio wheels
- Reverse Camera
- Rear Parking Sensors
- Front Assist with City Emergency Brake
- Privacy Glass
- SmartLink with Apple Carplay/Android Auto
- LED daytime running lights
- 6.5″ touchscreen infotainment system
- Black side mirrors
The 2018 Skoda Rapid is landing in dealerships now.
