Updated Clio arrives for 2018

The resurgent Renault Australia now has another fresh offering in Australian showrooms – the 2018 Renault Clio R.S.

For 2018, the Clio R.S. is again available in two specification levels – Sport and Cup and power continues to come from a 147kW 1.6 litre turbo-petrol engine.

But there’s a lot new stuff in the sporty Renault offering too.

At the front, there’s a redesigned bumper, new front fog lights, the addition of front parking sensors, and new multi-faceted LED lights, known as R.S. VISION.

First seen on the Clio R.S. 16 concept car, the new lights provide a distinctive look and outstanding lighting performance, according to Renault.

At the rear there’s a new spoiler, functional diffuser and twin exhaust.

Other new features include a fuel-saving auto engine stop/start system, climate control, tyre pressure warning system, LED cabin lights, and digital radio.

Lastly, Renault is also giving Clio R.S. buyers a choice of optional packs, these include a Black Pack (comprising black wheels and body enhancements), Leather Pack, and Entertainment Pack (which brings upgraded stereo system and Android Auto).

Renault boss, Justin Hocevar, says the update keeps the Clio R.S. up there with the hottest of hot hatches.

“Australia consistently appears in the top five for global Renault Sport sales and we expect this to continue with this new-look model.

“One of the exciting new features is the R.S. VISION lighting system, exclusive to Renault Sport vehicles.

“This highly-efficient lighting signature enhances night-time visibility, by co-ordinating the fog lights, cornering lights and side lights as well as the long-range headlights.

“Of course, the Clio R.S. benefits from Renault’s five-year unlimited kilometre warranty and Capped Price Servicing, providing our customers with outstanding value and peace of mind.”

2018 Renault Clio R.S. Pricing:

  • Clio R.S. Sport – from $30,990
  • Clio R.S. Cup – from $32,490
