Satellite navigation now comes standard across the range which has been abbreviated to only two variants; Active and Premium, doing away with the mid-spec Elite.
This is displayed on an 8” display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto installed.
The base model Sonata Active is an even more attractive prospect with dual climate control, smart key with push button start and a hands-free smart boot.

Though the most obvious change is the exterior styling with a longer, sleeker appearance with a larger, stylised boot, and sweeping headlights that cut back towards the fenders.
The Hyundai Sonata also has an updated Cascading grille in line with the new i30 and Kona, narrow headlights, airdam and vertical daytime running lights.
There are two new alloy wheel designs – a five spoke and twin spoke design for the Premium.
External black highlights such as on the lighting bezels, bumper, mirrors are added on the top fo the range model together with chrome enhancements.
A gloss black finish has also been applied to the dashboard buttons and switches complementing the flat-bottomed steering wheel and unique gear knob in the Premium.
Advanced driver assist systems like lane departure and blind spot detection are bonuses in the upper spec.
Pricing starts at $30,990 for the Sonata Active with a 2.4 litre petrol engine (138kW/241Nm) and six-speed auto transmission, and $45,490 for the 2.0 litre turbo petrol Sonata Premium.
