2018 Audi RS 4 Avant to debut in Frankfurt

Full details revealed for sporty new RS model

The new-generation Audi A4 range is almost complete with the RS 4 Avant the latest addition not too far off arriving in Australian Audi dealerships.

The newest RS model from Audi will make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week and then hits European and UK dealerships from later in the month.

audi rs 4 interior 2018The German car company tell us the latest Audi car to get the esteemed RS badge combines tremendous everyday usability with exceptional performance.

That performance comes from a 330kW/600Nm V6 bi-turbo 2.9 TFSI engine.

The power and torque is delivered to the ground via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and the latest Audi quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.

0-100km/h? The 2018 Audi RS 4 does the sprint in just 4.0 seconds and Audi is talking a top speed of 250km/h.

While remarkably, the new RS 4 boasts an additional 170Nm over the outgoing model, and the new engine is up to 17% more efficient than the current powerplant.

An 80kg weight loss is a big contributor to that improved fuel economy too.

Australian purchasers of the new-gen RS 4 will get 19” forged aluminium wheels as standard and 20” wheels will be available as an option.

Ceramic brakes and RS-specific dynamic steering will also be available, for extra dollars.

Look for the new paint colour too – ‘Nogaro blue’ (as seen in the photos).
