First 2017 Honda/Acura NSX sells for huge amount.
Honda will be excited by the amount of interest and passion the charity auction of the first next-generation 2017 Acura NSX has created in the U.S.
Acura, the luxury/sports division of Honda in North America, sent the first NSX to arrive on U.S. shores to the Barrett-Jackson Auctions with all funds raised going to Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.
Acura NSX sold at auction for $1.7 million (AUS) with all funds going to charity.
The winning bidder was Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and founder of Hendrick Automotive Group.
Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura, says the auction was an all-round success.
“It was amazing to witness such generosity of spirit and passion for the new NSX,”
“Mr. Hendrick will have the great satisfaction of owning and driving the very first next-generation NSX, and making a difference in the lives of thousands of children.”
U.S. orders for the new NSX begin in late February.
