2016 Kia Sportage and Optima Get Design Awards

New Kia models grab iF design awards for more than good looks.

There’s no doubting Kia cars have never looked better, now they are also picking up awards for the way they function.

The just launched 2016 Kia Sportage (check out our review here) and the new 2016 Kia Optima (reviewed here) have been named winners of iF Design Awards, not just for their pleasing styling, but also their finish, innovation, environmental impact and safety.

Kia has won iF Design Awards seven straight years now.

The coveted iF Design Awards have been presented since the 1950’s and Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors in UK, says the award wins for the new 2016 models are very welcome.

“We are delighted to accept these awards for the all-new Kia Sportage and Optima as proof of our design teams’ consistent efforts to develop prize-winning designs.

“The new Sportage features a distinctive new face, and the elegant Optima saloon highlights other, different facets of Kia’s design.

“These are important flagship models for us, clearly demonstrating the design-led transformation of the Kia model range in recent years.”
