The new Ford Mustang has just been named the Coupe of the Year at the UK Car of the Year Awards, judges saying the Ford was a standout for its performance, value for money and fun factor.
UK Car of the Year honours are decided by a panel of 27 British motoring journalists, including contributors to national newspapers, consumer and industry magazines, websites and TV.
Tim Pollard, of CAR magazine, said the Ford Mustang is a hard act to top.
“Exceptional value, amazing bangs for your buck and sheer drama of the thing.”
While John Challen, UK Car of the Year Awards director, highlighted Ford Mustang for its outstanding performance and value for money.
“Just the name is enough to stir even the most conservative petrol-heads.”
As in Australia, the right-hand drive Ford Mustang is offered in the UK with a choice of four-cylinder EcoBoost and V8 engines and Ford Britain boss, Andy Barrett, telling Behind the Wheel Car News that the recognition is very welcome.
“We are bringing a desired taste of the US to the UK with Ford Mustang. We’re proud that the judges have recognised the strengths of both cars in this year’s UK Car of the Year Awards.”
