2.0 litre diesel lands in Nissan X-TRAIL TL

More powerful turbo-diesel now available in top-spec X-TRAIL

The long-awaited 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine is now available in the top-spec Nissan X-TRAIL TL.

Promised back in May, Nissan Australia tell us the 130kW/380Nm engine is now available in two model grades – TS and TL and prices start from $35,990 and $47,790 respectively.

nissan x-trail diesel engineReplacing the previous 1.6 litre turbo-diesel unit, Nissan tell us the larger engine brings 35% more power and almost 20% more torque.

It comes standard in both model grades with a CVT auto and all-wheel drive.

While combined fuel consumption sits at 6.0L/100km.

Nissan boss Stephen Lester says many prospective X-TRAIL buyers have been waiting for the new engine to be available in the flagship variant.

“The X-TRAIL range has sold well since the May update, and with the base model TS diesel available since June, we are excited to have the full diesel range now on sale.

“With a strong grade walk, whether it be petrol or diesel, the X-TRAIL range offers something for everyone.”

The new diesel engine sits alongside the existing 106kW/200Nm 2.0 litre and 126kW/226Nm 2.5 litre petrol alternatives.
