New-generation Land Rover Discovery gets five-stars…
There’s all-new version of the Land Rover Discovery heading our way and when it arrives in Australia in coming months you can rest assured that it meets the highest safety standards.
The European crash testing authority, Euro NCAP, has confirmed the new seven-seat Discovery has qualified for a maximum five-star safety score.
In reporting the results, Euro NCAP said the new Land Rover Discovery produced an adult occupant protection score of 90%, while the model scored 80% on child protection and 75% on pedestrian safety.
The Land Rover’s safety assist systems scored 73%.
The new Discovery also picked up points for having four ISOFIX capsule/booster seat mounting points, a feature not all seven-seat SUVs boast.
Nick Rogers is the head of Product Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, he says the five-star result is welcome, but not unexpected.
“Safety and capability are at the core of the Discovery DNA,”
“These are fundamental priorities and key motivators for our engineering.
“Our priority is to protect both the occupants of our cars and other road users, providing peace of mind for our customers.”
