Small number of 2017 Audi vehicles recalled

Concerns over safety systems see some MY Audi’s recalled…

A total of just 39 cars are involved in a new recall of Audi cars in Australia.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects some MY17 models of the Audi A4, A4 Avant, A4 Allroad, A6, A7, and A8.

Is your Audi affected? Check your VIN here.

The recall notice advises that on affected vehicles, there are irregularities in the mix ratio of the igniting agent in some airbag units or belt tensioners which could lead to the airbags/belt tensioners not triggering in the event of an accident.

What are the hazards?

Airbag units and seat belt tensioners not working as expected may lead to increased injuries to the vehicle occupants during an accident.

Audi Australia is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles and they are being asked to contact their nearest Audi Dealer to arrange for inspection and repair (replacement of affected airbags and/or seatbelt tensioners).

Further info is also available from Audi Customer Service on 1800 50 AUDI (2834).
