Lucid Motors announces debut EV model pricing

Silicon-valley start-up prices new electric-car at $52,500 USD…

There’s another player about to enter the electric vehicle market with the Lucid Air set to enter production.

To be produced by the Silicon Valley-based electric vehicle company, Lucid Motors, U.S. pricing for the new offering has just been confirmed as starting at $52,500 ($68,400 AUD).

Known as the Lucid Air Sedan, prospective buyers are being asked to place a $2,500 deposit on their future EV.

Lucid Air Sedan Key Data:

  • 386 kilometre drive range
  • 298kW output
  • Rear-wheel drive
  • Autonomous driving capable
  • Five-seats
  • 10 airbags

While the Lucid Air will also be able to be upgraded with extra battery capacity for extra range (up to 643km), and a twin-motor configuration that pushes power up to 745kW will also be offered!

That configuration will be available in a launch edition model – priced, according to Lucid Motors, at ‘above $100,000 USD.
