July 2017 a bumper month for truck sales

14.5% jump in local sales

Most of the major truck brands competing in Australia have enjoyed the fruits of extremely strong July sales results.

VFACTS data shows 2,967 new heavy vehicles were handed over to customers last month, a number that is a full 14.5% up on the same month last year.

While sales across the first seven months of the year are now ahead of the 2016 total by a solid 8.1%.

In July, both medium-duty and heavy-duty experienced more than 19% growth, light-duty truck sales were ahead 9%.

Some of the individual models to enjoy good times in July included:

  • Isuzu N-Series (LD) – 379 (+28.5%)
  • Hino (LD) 179 (+12.9%)
  • Iveco C/C (LD) – 85 (+18.1%)
  • Iveco Van (LD) – 23 (+53.3%)
  • Fuso Canter (MD) – 16 (+23.1%)
  • Fuso Fighter (MD) – 105 (+32.9%)
  • Iveco (MD) – 9 (+125.0%)
  • MAN (MD) – 52 (+999%)
  • DAF (HD) – 32 (+68.4%)
  • Fuso F-Series (HD) – 14 (+27.3%)
  • Iveco (HD) – 53 (+120.8%)
  • Mack (HD) – 59 (+13.5%)
  • MAN (HD) – 49 (+276.9%)
  • Mercedes (HD) – 66 (+135.7%)
  • Scania (HD) – 72 (+60.0%)
  • UD Trucks (HD) – 36 (+200.0%)
