First official look at hot new Civic Type R next month…
As good as the new-generation Honda Civic is, it’s the Type R version that we are really looking forward to driving.
Now comes confirmation that the production-ready version of the sporty Civic will debut officially at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
Honda telling us this morning that the 2018 Honda Civic Type R has been engineered to deliver the most rewarding drive in the hot hatch segment.
Set to enter production in the middle of the year, the Type R will feature Honda’s 2.0 litre VTEC turbocharged petrol engine.
Other Honda highlights slotted in for Geneva include the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell and NeuV.
The fuel cell vehicle delivers a 620km range and its arrival in Europe comes as Honda looks to drive infrastructure investment in hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in the region.
While the Honda NeuV (pictured below) is a fully electric concept car that has been designed to be utilized as an automated ride sharing vehicle when the owner is not using the car.
Honda telling us it would pick up and drop off customers at local destinations, and could also sell energy back to the electric grid during times of high demand when sitting idle, further monetising the vehicle’s down time.
