Global debut for John Cooper Works MINI Countryman

Auto Shanghai will mark premiere of all-new JCW variant…

We recently got along to the Australian launch of the all-new MINI Countryman (details here) and now comes another step towards the new high-performance variant.

BMW/MINI head office has just confirmed that the all-new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman would make its world debut at Auto Shanghai at the end of the month.

We will bring you all the details on that in our MINI News section.

Meantime, the new-generation BMW 5 Series also recently arrived in Australia (launch review here) and now comes the debut of the stretched long-wheel base version.

BMW has confirmed that the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase would make its debut at Auto Shanghai at the end of the month.

The variant, which is boasts a wheelbase that is a substantial 133mm longer than the standard 5 Series sedan, will be built in China and only offered in that country.

Meantime, BMW has also confirmed that another special-edition version of the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car will also debut in Shanghai.

The BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition comes with the striking yellow paint finish (as below), as well as newly designed 20” alloy wheels and distinctive interior design cues.

And the looming new addition to the BMW SUV range, the X2 will also make its Asian premiere at the show.
