Volvo Cars starts production of all-new XC60 SUV…
The first 2018 Volvo XC60 has just left the production and we can expect to see the all-new SUV arrive in Australia later in the year, or early next.
Volvo has wasted no time in getting the new vehicle into production – it was only officially unveiled last month at the Geneva Motor Show.
One in three Volvo cars sold today is an XC60.
Built on the same platform as the impressive current-generation Volvo XC90 (a Behind the Wheel Car of the Year Finalist), the new XC60 will be offered with a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines and a plug-in hybrid too.
While, as expected from Volvo, the new XC60 will also boast an extensive list of safety features, including a system that is part of the Volvo’s crash mitigation technology called ‘Steer Assist’.
The auto steering technology also spreads to ‘Oncoming Lane Mitigation’ which helps you avoid head on collisions.
And there’s also ‘Pilot Assist’ - Volvo’s advanced semi-autonomous driver assistance system, which takes care of steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130 km/h.
We will bring you more details on this keenly-anticipated new Volvo model as it comes to hand in our Volvo News section.
