Volkswagen US Sales Slump in November

Volkswagen US Sales Slump in November

Diesel dramas crash Volkswagen sales in America.

Volkswagen US Sales Slump in November - diesel-powered models, including the Volkswagen Jetta, remain suspended.

It won’t come as a great surprise given the magnitude of the story but Volkswagen dealerships in the US felt the pain of the diesel-emissions scandal in November.

Volkswagen has released its US sales figures for November 2015 this morning and the news is not good. In a market that grew by 1.6%, Volkswagen sales slumped 25%. In all, 23,882 Volkswagen vehicles left dealerships, adjusting for the loss of diesels, deliveries of all other VW models fell 9%.

Volkswagen sales have fallen while diesel model sales are suspended.

Volkswagen America boss, Mark McNabb, said in a statement that the car company is working tirelessly on a remedy for the affected TDI vehicles.

“During this time we would like to thank our dealers and customers for their continued patience and loyalty.”

Meantime Audi of America reported a more positive result. Also affected by the diesel dramas, Audi actually managed to increase sales by 0.4% in November.

The result continues Audi’s run of 59 consecutive months of sales growth in the US, a welcome result for Audi of America COO, Mark Del Rosso.

“As we head into the final sales month, we are on track to achieve our sixth-consecutive record year and exceed 200,000 annual sales for the first time,”

“We expect this strong momentum will continue into 2016 as we refresh some of our most popular models, such as the Audi Q7, A4 and R8.”

We will report Australian new car sales data for November when released in coming days.
