Finally a concept car that really makes a lot sense!
The commercial vehicle sector of the car market can be a bit boring; the choice most of the time is simply ute or van? But this new concept from VW promises something very different.
Said to be a vision of possible future Volkswagen commercial vehicles, the Volkswagen TRISTAR Concept will be officially unveiled later in the week at the IAA Trade Fair for Mobility, Transportation and Logistics in Germany.
Initial information on the concept points to it packing real off-road ability, combined with plenty of space to transport goods and a very usable cabin. Most importantly, it also looks pretty cool!
Designed to pay tribute to the T2 based Synchro concept unveiled thirty years ago, Volkswagen says the concept features two separate cargo areas including a spacious, dust-proof and watertight drawer under the flatbed section. The interior has a 20-inch tablet table and video conferencing system, turning the TRISTAR into the perfect place for meetings.
It even has an espresso machine!
Dr. Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Board of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, says the TRISTAR is all about versatility.
“On the occasion of the anniversary of the first Syncro concept car, its strikingly shows the company’s all-wheel drive expertise and demonstrates its future viability.”
