The Frankfurt Motor Show is about to commence and one of the vehicles set to create a lot of interest is this new Volkswagen I.D. Crozz SUV.
Set to be the first of a number of new fully electric Volkswagen models, Volkswagen has released these images showing the vehicle in its entirety for the first time.
Set to hit dealerships by 2020, the I.D. Crozz concept is said to be a cross between an SUV and a four-door coupe.
It will be powered by front and rear electric motors that generate a total output of 225kW and will boast a driving range of up to 500 kilometres.
There will also be the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and a fast recharge time of up to 80% in half an hour.
The German car company saying the vehicle makes a powerful and masculine impression with its wide bonnet and cleanly contoured wings.
The interior of the electric SUV has an ‘Open Space’ theme.
While a ‘CleanAir’ system always ensures a supply of clean air in the interior, regardless of ambient conditions, according to Volkswagen.
Volkswagen Chairman, Dr Herbert Diess, says the I.D. Crozz heralds an exciting new era for the brand.
“The Volkswagen Brand will be investing 6 billion euros in electric mobility over the next five years.
“Our task is to make modern technology available to many people. This is especially important in times of technological transformation.
“One thing is clear: The Golf of the future must once again be a people’s car!”
