Volkswagen Beetle Suspension Recall
The recall affects around 1000 Volkswagen Beetle vehicles sold in Australia between 2011 and 2013.

A recall of around 1000 Volkswagen Beetle’s sold in Australia is now underway after it was found a potential fault in the rear suspension could lead to sudden loss of vehicle control.

The ACCC is overseeing the recall which affects 2011-2013 Beetle’s. The recall notice warns that the trailing arm of the rear torsion crank axle can break as a result of damage caused from impact to the vehicle such as a rear-end collision, or impact with the edge of a curb.

If the damaged trailing arm breaks, this, in some cases, may lead to immediate loss of vehicle control, posing an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.

A letter is being sent to affected owners and further information can be obtained from Volkswagen Authorised Service Centres or Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 607 822.
