SUV buyers in North America will soon have a seven-seat Volkswagen to consider with the new Volkswagen Atlas just revealed in the U.S.
The long-awaited model, which was first previewed back in 2013, is larger than the previous flagship Volkswagen model, the five-seat Touareg.
At this stage though there appears to be no discussion around bringing the model to Australia, though the Volkswagen Group will soon have the seven-seat Skoda KODIAQ to offer local families.
Around the same size as a Toyota Kluger, Volkswagen America boss, Hinrich Woebcken, said there were high hopes for the Volkswagen Atlas in North America.
“This is the biggest and boldest Volkswagen we have ever built in the United States, delivering the distinctive design and craftsmanship we’re known for, now with room for seven,”
“The Atlas marks a brand new journey for Volkswagen to enter into the heart of the American market.”
The Volkswagen Atlas will go on sale in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2017, we will keep you updated with any further news on the new model as it comes to hand, including any talk of it being offered here.
