US Car Sales Jump Ahead 3% in March 2016

March is a traditionally strong month for car sales in the US and that was certainly the case once again in March 2016.

Preliminary figures show the US market grew 3.1% compared to the same month last year with dealerships handing over the keys to 1,595,065 new vehicles in the month.

Buoyed by improving weather, a strengthening economy and Japanese car makers offering better deals to move as many cars as possible before the end of the Japanese financial year, most brands had an excellent month.

Though there were some worrying signs from both domestic and import brands, especially Mazda and Buick. However, British brands Jaguar and Land Rover experienced stellar months.

For the first three months of the year, US car sales are up 3.3% on the first quarter of 2016.
