ACCC updates Fiat Chrysler models affected by Takata recall

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has provided us with an updated list of Fiat Chrysler (FCA) vehicles affected by the Takata Airbag Recalls.

The ACCC advises that the following models are affected and will require airbag replacement:

The recall notice advising that the front passenger airbag inflator may rupture, due to excessive internal pressure, during normal airbag deployment events.

This condition is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time.

What are the hazards?

An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

FCA will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership whereby the vehicle will be repaired.
