Better fuel economy and refreshed looks for seven-seat SUV…
Toyota Australia dealerships are taking delivery of the updated 2017 Toyota Kluger.
Coming after the launch of the all-new Mazda CX-9 last year (review here), and a significant upgrade to the Nissan Pathfinder announced earlier this month (details here), Toyota is servicing up a Kluger that is more efficient and offers more features.
But there are price increases as well for the Toyota product.
Toyota confirming the mid-spec 2017 Toyota Kluger GXL is priced up to $2,360 more than the outgoing model, while the entry-level GX cops a $1,360 increase and the top-spec Grande has jumped up $1,860.
The price increases affect both 2WD and AWD variants.
But, Toyota say they can justify those increases and here’s how:
- 3.5 litre V6 engine now with extra 17kW/13Nm for new 218kW/350Nm outputs
- New eight-speed transmission (up from six-speed)
- Fuel efficiency gains of up to 10%
- Refreshed styling
- Improved interior feel
- Sat-nav, digital radio and electric tailgate now standard in Kluger GXL
- Pre-collision safety system now standard in Kluger Grande
Sales and marketing chief at Toyota, Tony Cramb, says the Kluger is ready to take the fight up to those rivals.
“Kluger now delivers more of everything appreciated by families,”
“Increased performance for more relaxed driving, better fuel economy to stretch the travel budget, modern exterior and interior treatments, welcome additional features and remarkable overall value.”
The 2017 Toyota Kluger range kicks off from $43,550.
