There’s another offering in the medium-size Australian truck market with UD Trucks launching the new PW 24 280 locally.
Aimed at applications ranging from waste management to general freight, the new UD model comes standard with a programmable Allison 3500 HD transmission that runs synthetic transmission fluid for extended service intervals.
Jon McLean, Vice President of UD Trucks Australia, tells us the new truck also boasts features not seen before in Australian UD models.
“For the first time we’re fitting Meritor drive axles as standard, with a driver-switchable diff lock and cross-lock function,”
“When you combine this with the WABCO ABS system, you get significantly improved traction in difficult terrain making it perfectly suited for construction or quarry work.”
While features such as FleetMax Plus telematics, a 6.1” touch screen including digital radio and sat-nav, and Bluetooth are all standard.
“The PW 24 280 is brilliant example of how UD Trucks can combine local knowledge with international expertise and quality to produce a market-leading truck,”
“The UD Trucks PW 24 280 is a unique solution for Australia and New Zealand that local transport operators have been looking for.
“Our customers asked for it, and here it is!”
