BMW in Germany has sent us a note to let us know that the two-millionth sixth-generation BMW 5 Series has just rolled off the production line.
But it’s this current series model, which was first launched in 2010, that has been the most popular 5 Series incarnation yet.
BMW tell us that when compared with the previous generation, sales of the current BMW 5 Series are up by 42% and the 5 Series has been the best-selling premium business model also for six years.
More than 347,000 BMW 5 Series vehicles are delivered to customers each year.
The sixth-generation BMW 5 Series also differs from previous generation models in being offered with the Gran Turismo body shape, as well as traditional sedan and touring (wagon) variants.
The BMW 5 Series range in Australia in 2016 is priced from $82,300.
