Turbo-diesel Skoda KODIAQ confirmed for Australia

Australian arrival before Christmas

Australian seven-seat SUV buyers will soon have the choice of a turbo-diesel powered Skoda KODIAQ.

The recently launched new Skoda SUV landed in Australia initially with just the option of a 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine producing 132kW and 320Nm (check out our launch review of that vehicle).

Now comes confirmation that engine will be soon joined by the 2.0 litre turbo-diesel.

Producing 140kW/400Nm, the diesel engine version of the Skoda KODIAQ will kick off from $48,990.

Known as the KODIAQ 140TDI, Skoda is talking fuel consumption just below 6.0L/100km.

Late 2017 arrival for diesel KODIAQ

Orders are now being taken for the diesel and Skoda is promising an arrival “before Christmas”.

Meantime, all MY18 Skoda KODIAQ variants, including the already arrived petrol model, will benefit from some extra features for the new year.

The update includes a 9.2” digital display with gesture control and digital radio.

While a ‘Sleep Pack’ is coming as standard too – Skoda saying this provides adjustable headrests, much like those found on airliners, for rear seat passengers.
