2016 Volvo XC90 scoops the pool at Chicago Auto Show.
We are big fans of the new-generation Volvo XC90 here at Behind the Wheel and it appears we aren’t alone.
The seven-seat Volvo SUV has just claimed three awards at the Chicago Auto Show. The XC90 has triumphed in the MotorWeek Driver’s Choice award, it was named Best Family Car by the Midwest Automotive Press Association and was selected as a Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy.
That brings the number of awards that the Volvo XC90 has won un the U.S. alone to an astonishing 26, including 2016 SUV of the Year and the 2016 North American Truck of the Year. Globally, the XC90 has won more than 70 awards since it was launched last July.
CEO of Volvo Cars North America, Lex Kerssemakers, welcomed the additional accolades.
“Volvo means ‘I roll’ in Latin, and we are really rolling,”
“These awards come from experts we hold in the highest regard for their knowledge and understanding of what makes a good car, which is what makes each of them so valuable.”
