The Toyota Kluger is in line for a fairly serious make-over with the updated model of the popular seven-seat SUV set to arrive in Australian Toyota dealerships next year.
The 2017 Toyota Kluger (or Highlander as it is known in North America) will be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show next week and Toyota Australia has confirmed a first half of 2017 arrival for the new model here.
The biggest change looks set to happen under the Kluger bonnet with an improved direct-Injection 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine set to be introduced, along with a newly developed eight-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota will also give the exterior of the Toyota Kluger a refresh at the front and rear as well.
Tony Cramb from Toyota Australia Sales and Marketing, telling Behind the Wheel Car News that the Kluger looks set to continue to be a local sales force to be reckoned with for many years to come.
“Sales of close to 14,000 units made 2015 Kluger’s best ever year in Australia,”
“It’s combination of performance, space, safety and efficiency has made it an Australian family favourite, and these upgrades to the current third-generation version will help further cement that position.”
We will keep you updated with Australian pricing, availability and specification details for the updated Toyota Kluger when confirmed by Toyota.
