The Toyota Prado has continued its dominance of the large SUV market with another top-selling performance in September.
That number one position coming despite a dramatic 30.4% downturn in sales of the model in the month.
VFACT sales data for September 2016 shows that the Prado and the Subaru Outback were the only models in the large SUV, or upper large SUV categories to crack 1,000 sales.
Significant gains for the Holden Colorado 7/Trailblazer (+74.1%), Mazda CX-9 (+121.8%), Hyundai Santa Fe (+157.9%) and Kia Sorento (+27.6%), will have their respective manufacturers smiling.
There was also plenty of love for the now discontinued Toyota FJ Cruiser (+59.2%).
In the +$70,000 classification, strong performers in September included Range Rover Sport (+34.6%), Lexus RX (+47.1%), Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class (75.8%) and Volvo XC90 (+302.5%).

And Toyota also had reason to celebrate in the SUV Upper Large segment with the LandCruiser out-selling the Nissan Patrol by 903 sales to 277.
