Toyota most Googled car brand

Website data shows Toyota number one on Google.

Toyota most Googled car brand - Toyota topped the Google search data in Australia and globally.

The team at the American auto publication, TopSpeed, have crunched the data and report that Toyota has come out as the worlds most Googled car brand.

The Google search entry data found Toyota was, not surprisingly, the most Googled car brand in Australia, though in many countries the Japanese brand didn’t come out on top.

Toyota was number one also in the U.S. and Canada, but in Mexico people searched more frequently for information and reviews on Chevrolet and Nissan vehicles.

In Europe most of the searches were for European brands, especially the big four German brands – BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Audi. A similar trend could be seen in data from Asia where local brands topped the Google search data.

Interestingly, despite Toyota’s popularity in the nation and the demand for the Ford Ranger too, our New Zealand cousins most often searched for info on Mitsubishi cars!

In their article on the results, TopSpeed said that it all shows that the most searched brands don’t necessarily mean most sold.

“If these attributes went hand in hand, then Belize would become the land of Jaguar and Tesla would sell millions of cars in China.

“Of course, that’s not to say sales and popularity aren’t related, as countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, and Norway show.”
