Toyota FJ Cruiser fuel tank breather recall

FJ Cruiser recalled over fuel tank breather fault which could spark a fire.

The recall affects FJ Cruisers manufactured from 12/10/2020 through to 14/02/2020.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission are overseeing a recall of 2012-2014 models of the FJ Cruiser.

The recall has been launched after it was found the routing of the fuel tank breather tube (main to sub-tank) near the exhaust could be damaged by heat from the exhaust which could lead to a fuel leak.

The actual material used in the construction of the fuel tank breather tube has also been found to be sub-standard.

Toyota Dealers will replace the fuel breather tube at no charge to the owner, these repairs will commence mid-March and owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail at their last known address.
