Just when we were talking about Toyota having fun again along comes news that another sports model may just be in the pipeline for Australia’s best-selling car brand.
Confirmed this afternoon by Toyota, the open-top sports car concept is said to have been inspired by the company’s involvement in endurance racing, as well as the Supra and Toyota Sports 800.

Set to make an official debut at this month’s Tokyo Motor Show, the concept is known as the GR HV and features a hybrid engine mounted up front and rear-wheel drive.
If you squint, can you see some Toyota 86 in there?
Meantime, Toyota also confirmed it would be showing this concept vehicle in Tokyo as well.
Known as the Toyota Tj CRUISER, the vehicle has been described as “a toolbox on wheels” that is also fun to drive.
There’s up to 3 metres of available cargo space and Toyota say that’s enough room to carry a surfboard.
