Toyota Camry maintains medium segment lead in October

Australian production might be coming to an end but it seems there is nothing the Toyota Camry can do wrong in the eyes of Australian buyers.

The Camry remained streets ahead of its rivals in October with VFACTS data showing the Toyota product secured 52.5% of the entire medium passenger car market in Australia.

There was some good news though for Ford with Mondeo sales enjoying a much-needed jump of more than 20% (compared to October 2015), while Kia Optima sales were also up 19%.

Overall, Australian’s turned away from the segment by 5.9% in the month.

While the $60,000+ segment was again dominated by the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Interestingly, the premium segment suffered a more dramatic 26.3% decline in sales in the month, sales are also down 11.0% for the year.
